Mac McAnally Comes to Beach Creek for One Night Only

Beach Creek Oyster Bar & Grille will host Mac McAnally and special guest Eric Darken for a one-night concert on Sunday, August 28 at 8 p.m.

Country music singer-songwriter Mac McAnally is no stranger to the spotlight. An Alabama native, he began playing piano and singing in church as a child at the Belmont First Baptist Church in Belmont, Miss. By age 15 he had composed his first song, and at age 20 he released his first album. From there, his career blew up, eventually topping the singles charts in a duet recording of his composition “Down the Road” with Kenny Chesney, and co-writing Alabama’s No. 1 hit “Old Flame.” His longest running co-writing relationship is with Jimmy Buffet, whom he is currently touring with. Amassing vast session credits with George Strait, Martina McBride, Dolly Parton, Keith Whitley, George Jones, Brad Paisley, Toby Keith, Billy Joel, Trisha Yearwood and Reba McEntire, it’s no surprise his peers have voted him CMA Musician of the Year for an unprecedented eight years in a row. Additionally, he is a member of the Nashville Songwriters’ Hall of Fame and the Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame.

Accomplished composer, producer and percussionist, Eric Darken has written several original underscores for TV and film, including Dateline NBC, 20/20, Fox Sports, the Discovery Channel, The NFL Network, National Geographic and “The Fantastic Four – Rise of the Silver Surfer.” His recording credits include Taylor Swift, BonJovi, Jewel, Luke Bryan, Darius Rucker, Carrie Underwood, The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir and new artists James Bay and Moon Taxi. The award-winning percussionist has traveled around the world and throughout the United States performing with artists such as Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Faith Hill, Take 6 and Bob Seger. He currently tours with Jimmy Buffett and The Coral Reefer Band.
