LOWER TOWNSHIP – On August 21, 2015 we tragically lost Lilyana Fernandez, a beautiful little 5-year-old girl from Lower Township, to a rare strain of Bacterial Spinal Meningitis. During Lilyana’s hospitalization, she underwent extensive brain surgeries and multiple procedures. Our little angel is gone way too soon.
The Friends of Lilyana will be hosting a FUN-raising benefit on Sunday, June 5 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Crest Pier in Wildwood Crest. The money raised will assist Lilyana’s mother, Shannon Decker, with the financial demands associated with Lilyana’s end-of-life expenses, as well as give back to the Ronald McDonald House Philadelphia Chapter, the organization who housed Shannon and her family during Lilyana’s hospital stay.
This exciting benefit will be a kid-friendly “Family Fun Day” and will include awesome activities for all ages. Some of the kids activities include games for prizes, characters, princesses, face painting, balloon making, bounce houses, a costume contest, crafts, fire trucks and even our own “Fairy Godmother” makeover boutique. We will also have the Original Hot Spot serving up all of your favorite boardwalk foods and beverages. This will be an outdoor event and will feature a live concert performed by a local favorite, Animal House Band, who will be rockin’ out some Love for Lilyana on stage. There will also be awesome raffles baskets, games of chance, a 50/50 and so much more. You won’t want to miss this celebration of the life of our beautiful angel Lilyana.
Tickets for the event are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Tickets will also be available at the door on the day of the event. We are still welcoming sponsorships and donations, and will be giving heartfelt thanks and recognition to any charitable contributions made.
