In 1969, Mike Sciarra changed the way that surfers looked at Wildwood. In 2014, he is about to do it again:
In August of this year, he made the moves to renovate the Kona Outlet from top to bottom, adding hardwood floors, custom surf racks, flat screen TVs, a full service bicycle repair shop, and more to come as the renovations near completion. The goal here was to provide Wildwood with a premium retail location that focused on the core surfer, skateboarder and cycling enthusiast. The Outlet is no more, and Mike is ready to unveil his new retail space for 2015.
Upon walking into the new location, you are immediately greeted with the sweet smell of surf wax, which leads the eyes to the massive surfboard section which is front and center on the floor. This gives way to the biggest selection of wetsuits and wetsuit accessories in South Jersey, with every major brand represented and stocked thoroughly. The Kona Bike & Board shop has you covered from head to toe, and can special order anything that you might need.
A fully stocked skateboard section comes next, with a floor to ceiling skate deck selection, along with all of the hardgoods needed to create the board of your dreams. Longboards are plentiful, from premium brands like Sector 9 and Arbor. They’ve also got Penny boards in every color under the sun, which are a great gift idea for Christmas!
Finally there is the bike shop, which has been completely redone to help the customer find exactly what they are looking for. Beach Cruisers, Single Speeds, Racing bikes and a massive selection of BMX is what you can expect. They’ve even got a trained mechanic on staff 7 days a week for same-day repairs.
