Located just 10 minutes from Sea Isle City, Ludlam Island Brewery brings a unique variety of craft beer to the Jersey Shore. Founder Bill Topley’s original intentions were to bring the brewery to Sea Isle’s resort town, but the denial of his proposal didn’t stop him from fulfilling his dream. Although Sea Isle is still in Topley’s heart, he opened his facility in nearby Ocean View.
After a 10-day tour of Amsterdam, Belgium and Germany to learn all about brewing beer, Topley and his head brewer, Joe Laluk of Gloucester City, came up with their eight signature beers which are available year round. With eight brews constantly on tap, these signature beers are often rotated out with seasonal specialties.
At Ludlam Island, you’ll taste the results of passion and hard work. Both traditional beer and one-of-a-kind flavors will delight your taste buds, keeping you coming back for more. With names like “Fish Alley Ale” and “Harry’s Coffee Pale Ale” – named after local businesses and landmarks – you can’t resist visiting this spot to see how great beer is made!
Ludlam Island’s tasting room is on the ground floor, adjacent to the brewing facility. Here, patrons can learn about the eight-step process that produces Ludlam Island’s signature beers. The second floor features another tasting room available for private parties. The room is full of rustic charm and fits up to 35 people. Enjoy a private bar featuring eight rotating beers on tap, as well as windows overlooking the brewery below.
