Join Sherlock & Watson in Cape May During Sherlock Holmes Search for Clues Tour

Holmes and Watson work to solve the mystery, ‘Sherlock Holmes and The Case of Melpomene’s Mask’

CAPE MAY — Join Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s master sleuth, Sherlock Holmes, with his partner Dr. Watson, as he chases after evidence in this year’s baffling mystery, “Sherlock Holmes and The Case of Melpomene’s Mask,” during Cape May’s Sherlock Holmes Weekend, sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC), Friday, Nov. 4 through Sunday, Nov. 6.

For many years now, Dr. Watson has been telling his tales to the audience in the auditorium of the Horatio Theatre. Now the audience will have the chance to solve a case with this classic — albeit fictional — theater as the setting. You think this might be too simple for you? Well, remember in theater, as well as with Sherlock Holmes, nothing is ever as it seems. The play is the thing — to catch a killer.

While the full weekend packages are sold out, participants can still get in on the chase during the Search for Clues Tour and vie for the $250 grand prize. Call 609-226-6027 or 800-275-4278, ext. 115 for more information or visit www.capemaymac.org.

Also during Sherlock Holmes Weekend, the East Lynne Theater Company (ELTC) presents “Holmes and Carter Mysteries,” on Friday, Nov. 4 and Saturday, Nov. 5 at 8 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 500 Hughes St. Enjoy this vintage-radio style production complete with live sound effects and commercials, featuring two great detective stories — “Sherlock Holmes Adventure of the Red-Headed League” and “Nick Carter and the Voice of Crime.” Tickets are $25 general; $15 students; ages 12 and under free.
