Jim Yester, a member of the iconic 60s musical group The Association, will be making a special guest appearance alongside the Jersey Shore Pops in Cape May. The concert, titled American Patriotic Concert Tribute, will take place on Monday, July 3rd, at 7:00 PM in the Cape May Convention Center.

Renowned music director and pianist Linda Gentille will lead the Jersey Shore Pops during this exceptional concert. The event will also feature performances by vocalist Jacklyn Buckingham and virtuoso violinist Susan Elsayed.

Jim Yester, a long-time friend and musical collaborator of Linda Gentille, will join the orchestra for a special appearance. Jim, an original founding member of The Association, rejoined the group several years ago after performing together with Linda for several years. The Association, known for their hits like “Cherish,” “Never My Love,” “Windy,” and “Along Comes Mary,” has experienced significant success throughout their career. This will be Jim’s second performance with the popular orchestra.

On July 3rd, Linda and the Pops will pay tribute to three of America’s greatest musical figures: Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, and Glenn Miller.

George Gershwin, a master of blending classical, jazz, and popular music styles, created timeless compositions such as “Rhapsody in Blue,” “Embraceable You,” “Strike Up the Band,” and “Love Walked In.”

Irving Berlin, a talented and prolific composer and lyricist, wrote over 800 songs, encompassing various genres from ragtime and jazz melodies to the golden age of musicals.

Despite being too old to serve as a soldier in World War II, Glenn Miller organized, conducted, and played in an Army Air Force band, entertaining allied troops in Britain. His original arrangements of “In the Mood” and other standards played a crucial role in boosting the morale of soldiers and the American public.
