Musician and Impressionist Travis Turpin Joins the Jersey Shore Pops
CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – Linda Gentille & The Jersey Shore Pops open their popular Summer Concert Series with “Iconic Voices” on Saturday, July 22 at 7 p.m. at the Middle Township Performing Arts Center. The show will feature popular musician and impressionist Travis Turpin.
A versatile entertainer, Travis Turpin thrills audiences playing guitar and piano, singing and performing impressions. His vocal talents encompass multiple musical genres, including Broadway, Pop, Rock and Country. Even more amazing, Travis’ impressions include show business legends like Sammy Davis Jr., Joe Cocker, Ray Charles, the incomparable Elvis, Neil Diamond, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Johnny Cash.
Travis is truly many stars in one and this show will be the highlight of the season. It is expected to sell out so get your tickets early.
The Jersey Shore Pops is a big band orchestra with a string section, modeled after the orchestras of the Frank Sinatra era which featured strings along with a big band sound. The Pops was founded by entertainer and conductor Linda Gentille in 2009. The orchestra features 25 of the finest area musicians either born or based in New Jersey, becoming the most popular orchestra at the Jersey Shore and an attraction for tourists from all over the East coast for the past 80 years. Many Philly Pops fans attend the Jersey Shore Pops Summer Concert Series when the Philly Pops is on vacation.
The Jersey Shore Pops 2017 Summer Concert Series continues with the following programs:
Saturday, July 29 at 7 p.m.: “Great Balls of Fire” with Music Director & Pianist Linda Gentille
Saturday, Aug. 5 at 7 p.m.: “Divas of Soul” with Lovena Fox
Friday, Aug. 18 at 7 p.m.: “Wildwood Days” with Johnny Petillo
Individual tickets range from $25-$40 with a special group rate for 10 or more of only $22. Individual tickets can also be purchased at the Middle Township PAC (located at the high school) Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is free and convenient parking at the PAC and the theatre is handicapped accessible.
