Hugh Panaro & The Cape May Pops to Play August 22

CAPE MAY – A leading star on Broadway, Hugh Panaro will be joining the Cape May Pops on Monday, August 22 at 8 p.m. at Cape May Convention Hall. This concert is co-sponsored by Cape May Stage. Panaro was born in Philadelphia and studied music at Temple University before moving to New York to pursue his acting dreams. This performance will be another entertaining show in the Cape May Summer Concert Series and one that should not be missed!

Panaro is critically lauded and adored by fans, demonstrating versatility, charisma and tremendous vocal talent both on and off Broadway. He has performed in London, Toronto, Los Angeles and Seattle as well as on Broadway, the Majestic Theatre and Walnut Street Theatre, among many other venues. In addition to his talent, his charm, humility and infectious smile have made him a fan favorite.

Highlights of Panaro’s career include playing the original role of Marius Pontmercy in the first national touring production of “Les Miserables” as well as the Phantom in 1999’s “The Phantom of the Opera,” starring as Anthony Hope in the Kennedy Center’s 2002 production of “Sweeney Todd,” and being a part of the 25th anniversary performance in “The Phantom of the Opera” at the Majestic Theatre.
