Holiday Gifting Idea: 2020 Beach Tags

Stumped on what to get someone on your list? If your loved one is a beach lover, give him or her an early glimpse of the sun and sand by gifting beach tags for the next summer season! Some communities even offer special holiday tags, making for a festive addition to any beach tag collection. Read on for information about purchasing beach tags this holiday season in each municipality.

Avalon

2020 Avalon Holiday Beach Tags are available while supplies last at the Avalon Tax Collector’s Office located inside Avalon Borough Hall, open weekdays from 8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. The limited edition tags cost $23 and come in a decorative box, making the perfect gift. The tags can be used throughout the 2020 beach season in both Avalon and Stone Harbor, as the communities honor each other’s beach tags. The tags can be purchased by cash or check. Avalon requires beach tags Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The price for beach tags will go up if purchased after Memorial Day.

Stone Harbor

Stone Harbor’s 2020 Holiday Beach Tags are available while supplies last beginning Thanksgiving weekend at the Borough Hall receptionist desk, 9508 Second Ave., Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tags cost $23 and are good for the 2020 beach season in both Stone Harbor and Avalon, as the communities honor each other’s beach tags. Stone Harbor requires beach tags the Friday of Memorial Day weekend to the Monday of Labor Day weekend from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The price for beach tags will go up if purchased after Memorial Day.

Sea Isle City

Limited edition 2020 Sea Isle City Holiday Beach Tags are available for $20 each (pre-season rate) while supplies last. The tags are good for the 2020 beach season in Sea Isle City. Purchase your Holiday Beach Tags in City Hall’s Tax Office, 233 JFK Blvd., 2nd Floor, Room #204, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (except holidays), or at the Welcome Center, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cash or checks only. A Beach Tag Vending Machine is available 24/7 in the lobby of City Hall to purchase Holiday Beach Tags. The vending machine accepts cash only and does not make change. Beach tag gift certificates are also available. Certificates are to be “exchanged” after April 15, 2020 at the Beach Tag Office for 2020 seasonal beach tags. Sea Isle City requires beach tags Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  

Ocean City

Ocean City’s 2020 Seasonal Beach Tags are available at the following locations: City Hall, 861 Asbury Ave., Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Route 52 Welcome Center, Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to  4 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Henry Knight Building, 12th Street &  Haven Avenue, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (except holidays); Aquatic & Fitness Center, 17th Street & Simpson Avenue, Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and the 46th Street Welcome Center, 4500 block of West Avenue, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tags cost $20 (pre-season rate) and are good for the 2020 beach season in Ocean City. Seasonal tags are also available online or through mail – visit www.ocnj.us/beachtags. Ocean City requires beach tags June 1 through Sept. 7, 2020.

Cape May

Cape May’s 2020 Seasonal Beach Tags are available starting Dec. 2 at the City Hall Tax Office, 643 Washington St., Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (except holidays), and by mail. Tags cost $20 through Dec 31st (the price increases to $25 from Jan 1, 2020 to March, 31, 2020; $30 from April 1, 2020 to Labor Day) and are good for the 2020 beach season in Cape May. The tags can be purchased by cash or check. All orders must be received by Dec. 31st for the $20 rate and March 31st for the  $25 rate. Visit www.capemaycity.com for a mail-in beach tag order form.
