Donate to Cape Regional Health System
Cape Regional Health System is now collecting medical masks and protective gowns from community partners. To drop off masks and protective gowns, please call Ray Wisniewski at 609-463-2289 or Tom Piratzky at 609-463-4042 to arrange drop off at the medical center. Support Local Businesses
Many local businesses are unable to open due and already seeing the financial burden because of the current restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic. If feasible, here are a few ways you can support businesses in our area at this time, whether they are open or closed.
- Order takeout or delivery from the restaurants that are still open. Businesses are doing everything they can to ensure they are working in safe, clean environments to provide meals for their customers. Please check the ads throughout the Do The Shore section for more information about businesses that remain open.
- Buy gift cards or tickets to be used at a later date from some of your favorite businesses. Buying tickets or gift cards allow businesses to stay up and running even without visitors. Plus, you will have something to look forward to once everything returns to normal.
- Follow businesses on social media to receive updates about store openings, website inventory, and sales. If you want to shop now, many e-commerce sites are still up and running. Some businesses are even posting sale items on their Instagram stories, so don’t miss out!

Five Girls Sandwich Shop Offers Free Meals for Pick Up
The new Five Girls Sandwich Shop, located at 21st and New Jersey Avenue in North Wildwood, is helping the community during the COVID-19 pandemic by offering FREE meals available for pick up on Wednesday, April 15 and Friday, April 17 between 3-6 p.m. The new shop wants to say thank you to our police, fire, first responders and medical workers, and offer a helping hand to those in need during this time. Simply stop by the store next week and the staff will be happy to assist you!
Inlet on Olde Offers Complimentary Meal to All Healthcare Workers
The Inlet on Olde in North Wildwood announced local area healthcare workers can receive one complimentary meal plus 20% off the rest of their bill starting April 2. Along with this offer, The Inlet will discount all orders delivered to Cape Regional Medical Center by 50%. The bar and grill, located on Walnut and Olde New Jersey Aves in North Wildwood, knows healthcare workers are fighting battle against COVID-19 and realized taking the guesswork out of meals was the best way to give back. In addition to the complimentary meal and discounts, The Inlet provided Cape Regional Medical Center with complimentary trays of food on April 2 as a gesture of sincere gratitude. Anglesea Pub Employees Volunteer at Lazarus House Ministries in Wildwood
Last week, employees from Anglesea Pub volunteered at the food pantry at the Lazarus House Ministries in Wildwood. The food pantry is open Monday, Wednesday, and Frida from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. If you, or someone you know, is in need of assistance, please visit the food pantry. If you would like to make donations of nonperishable foods, gently worn coats and hoodies, personal care items or cleaning supplies, or would like to volunteer your time, please call Frank Stone at 609-522-1500 or drop off donations during their operating hours. Nauti Spirits Distillery Creates Hand Sanitizer for First Responders & Healthcare Professionals
Nauti Spirits Distillery in Cape May and Partners Pharmacy in Springfield have teamed up to make hand sanitizer for first responders and healthcare professionals. Nauti Spirits provided the alcohol and Partners Pharmacy created the sanitizer. Volunteers gathered at Nauti Spirits to get the hand sanitizer ready. The team began distributing to local first responders on March 25 and plan to place bottles for sale to the public shortly. Cape May County Animal Welfare Society Provides Pet Food to Those in Need
Although they are closed due to the state of emergency, the Cape May County Animal Welfare Society is honoring appointments and offering pet food to those in need. If you need pet food, please contact the Cape May County Animal Welfare Society via email cmcaws@yahoo.com, call 609-465-3403 or private message them on Facebook to schedule an appointment to get food from our “Community Pet Food Bank.”
The Eat Well Cape May Offers a “Pay What You Can” Program
For the past four years, The Eat Well Cape May has offered a “Pay What You Can, If You Can” after school snack program for children in the community. With the current crisis our nation faces, The Eat Well created a “Pay What You Can, If You Can” special for children who are out of school due to the coronavirus. The restaurant is offering Pay What You Can grilled cheese and tomato soup all day every day, available for delivery or pickup. They are collecting donations for the “Pay If You Can” Program. During this time, people are encouraged to stay indoors and practice social distancing to decrease the spread of the virus and protect everyone in our community. For some residents, especially older adults and people with underlying medical issues, the risk is much higher.
