Test your pumpkin carving skills at Elaine’s Drunken Pumpkin Carving Contest on Thursday, October 27 from 5 to 9 p.m. Enjoy fall in Cape May with beautiful cool weather and glowing jack-o-lanterns on Elaine’s porch and new patio. Although all ages are welcome, Elaine’s will offer drink specials and holiday cocktails throughout the evening. There will also be apple bobbing, a fire pit, live music from Bill Caterini and more. This event is FREE and the pumpkins are provided, but you must make reservations in advance to secure your pumpkin. Play along and solve the mystery during the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities’ Murder Mystery Dinners on Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29 at 7 p.m. You’ll meet some disreputable characters during this mystery that occurs all around you during a delicious dinner at the Inn of Cape May. Suspicion will challenge your sleuthing skills while you savor a four-course dinner at Aleathea’s Restaurant. Tickets are $50. This is a limited event and reservations are necessary. Call up the babysitter ASAP and get your tickets to Congress Hall’s Masquerade Ball in the grand ballroom on Friday, October 28 from 8 to 11 p.m. Costumes are encouraged, of course, and attendees have a chance to win over $1,000 in prizes, which will be awarded for Best Congress Hall Icon, Best Political Costume, Best Couple, Funniest, Scariest, Crowd Favorite and Best Overall.
