CAPE MAY — As summer comes to an end, the First Presbyterian Church’s acclaimed Jazz Vespers series looks forward to a fall filled with some of South Jersey’s finest jazz musicians. Oct. brings Brian Betz/Denis DiBlasio to our stage and Nov. brings local favorite Michael Pedicin.
Sept. is no exception. On Sept. 15 at 3:00, Greg Pordon will return to the Vespers Series. Greg was born and raised in Concord, Massachusetts. After studying arranging at Berklee College of Music in Boston, he went on the road with Alex Glover and Company. This stint lasted for five years which eventually brought him to Atlantic City and introduced him the AC Casino scene.
Since moving to the area he has performed at many venues and casinos in South Jersey as a freelance keyboard player or member of a group.
During the nineties, he was partners in the creation and construction of Giant Steps Recording, a highly regarded recording studio currently located in Blue Anchor, N.J.
He currently travels the world playing piano with the legendary 70’s singing group, The Stylistics. For the past seven years has been the musical director for the 11 a.m. Celebration Service at the First Presbyterian Church of Cape May.
