Enjoy a March weekend at the beach with family and friends and take a dip in the beautiful, COLD Atlantic Ocean during the 7th Annual Stone Harbor Shiver!
Hosted by the Stone Harbor Chamber of Commerce, the Shiver kicks off with a Pre-Shiver Party at the Yacht Club of Stone Harbor, 9001 Sunset Dr., on Friday, March 10 from 6 to 9 p.m. with a $15 buffet, cash bar and auction. While there, pick up you’re Shiver swag bag that includes your Shiver tee or hoodie.
The party continues Saturday, March 11 at 9:30 a.m. with “Kegs & Eggs” at Fred’s Tavern, 314 96th St. At 11 a.m., get ready to strut down the street with the Fralinger String Band as the Shiver Parade heads to the beachfront parking lot at the Women’s Civic Club. Participants will be introduced and entered into the “Best Of” contest for Best Individual Costume, Best Team Name, Best Float and Best Team Performance, so start thinking of your costumes and theme song now!
Finally, take that chilly dip into the water at the 96th Street beach at 1 p.m. Then, head back to Fred’s Tavern for a Post-Shiver Party!
Registration is $30 for adults which includes a long-sleeve tee, or $45 which includes a hooded sweatshirt. Registration for children 18 and under and students with ID is $20 which includes a long-sleeve tee. Register online at www.active.com.
Proceeds benefit Family Promise of Cape May County, a charity that supports and counsels homeless parents and children, and works to place them in permanent homes; and the Stone Harbor Chamber of Commerce, so it can continue to hold the Shiver and other great events throughout the year!
