DATELINE – Free nature activities for everyone of all ages continue at the Cape May National Wildlife Refuge.  

The Two Mile Beach Unit is a hidden gem in Cape May County with nature trails, a protected beach and a Nature Center. The Friends of CMNWR support the ongoing conservation efforts with upcoming events in the 2023 season.   

The Nature Center can be found on 12001 Pacific Ave. in Wildwood Crest and has displays, nature related items for sale, and information about local wildlife. They are open Saturdays and Sundays until May 21. Open Thursday-Monday, starting May 25th.  

Nature walks every Saturday morning– join the center for Family friendly nature walks at 9:00  

Bike & Hike  Sundays– ride your bike to the refuge between 9-12, complete an activity and receive a free sport pack and goodies for the family  

Thursday June 15– Friends will sponsor a “Nature Promotes Wellness” exhibit at the Annual Health and Wellness” Expo at Crest Pier in Wildwood Crest  

Junior Refuge Manager Badge – visit the center for a scavenger hunt every day!  

Saturday, June 17 – Rain Barrel Demonstration and Workshop at 11:00. For a $25.00 donation, participants will take home a completed rain barrel, which will provide nourishing water to a backyard garden and conserve water as well. 10 barrels will be given away during the drawing.  

The demonstration will be put on in conjunction with an Americorp Watershed Ambassador. Limited to 10 participants.
