Find a Polar Plunge in Cape May County

Polar plunges are a frigid way to ring in the New Year. Take a daring dive into the Atlantic Ocean before the summer begins. Remember – the polar plunge in Sea Isle City was permanently canceled in 2022.  

Ocean City Polar Plunge 

Monday, Jan. 1 at 2 p.m 

Music Pier 

The plunge starts at 2 p.m. on Jan. 1 on the beach adjacent to the Music Pier (on the Eighth Street side). Participants should register inside the Music Pier before heading to the beach. Registration is free, but all participants must sign a waiver. “First Day at the Beach” shirts will be on sale at the Music Pier. 

Wildwood Polar Plunge  

Saturday, Jan. 13 at 1 p.m.  

Wildwoods Convention Center 

This annual plunge raises money for the Special Olympics of New Jersey. Plungers raise money through “sponsorships” before diving in. Sign up, or donate, at www.plungewildwood.org 

Cape May St. Patricks’ Day Plunge 

Saturday, March 16 at 11 a.m. 

This plunge technically takes place in Winter, but Spring is just a week away. The plunge, and 5k, are hoested by a famous Irish bar in Cape May. The event benefits the Cape May Food Closet, and a signup fee is required. A special t-shirt is included.
