Fiber Arts Celebrates Local Yarn Shop Day & 31st Anniversary

“Seems like only yesterday I opened the original Fiber Arts Studio in my home on Delsea Drive, Cape May Court House,” says owner Jana. “That was March 1, 1987. Four moves and 16 or so years later, we landed in Cape May amid sunshine, the beach, Victorian architecture and a myriad of great restaurants.”

Knitting as a hobby is going strong! Don’t miss National Local Yarn Shop Day on April 21 at Fiber Arts, with a free pattern and other promotions. The 31st anniversary celebration is at the same time, April 20-22. Everything in the shop is on sale, plus there will be a double discount on sale yarns with an additional mystery discount! There will also be door prizes, knitting machine demonstrations and a chance to win a $225 mystery Cascade Gradient Lapghan Knit-along Kit.

There’s a whole lot of new happening at Fiber Arts. Fiber Arts welcomes Beth F., bringing a wealth of knitting knowledge and love of the craft, and Olivia and Jada, young knitters who are enthusiastic about working this summer. Yarn additions include hand-dyed Shirsty, Sirdar, Berroco summer yarns and lots of cakes for knitting one-skein shawls and cowls, as well as eco-organic wools, cottons and linens.

Fiber Arts offers free instruction to knitters and crocheters. Learn a new skill or work on the project of your choice in classes offered Sundays and Mondays at 1 p.m. and Thursdays at 6 p.m. Ask about the two for $20 class deal!

It’s not your grandmother’s knitting anymore!
