Saturdays, June 9 and June 16 at 9 a.m.: Family Bird & Nature Walk
Learn about this amazing natural area, with a rare dune forest between untouched beach dunes and salt marsh. Birds (both song and shore) and butterflies are plentiful. Binoculars can be provided. These walks of approximately one mile in length last about an hour and a half, and are fun for novice and experienced birders alike.
Sunday, June 10 at 10 a.m.: Ecology of the Dunes and Beach
How did our barrier islands get here? What unique animals and plants live here? What endangered species use our dunes and beaches? How have the dunes changed over the last two centuries, and what does the future hold for them? Get answers to these questions and many more in a family-friendly, multimedia and outdoor exploration of the barrier island ecosystems.
All programs start at the Visitors’ Center, located at 12001 Pacific Ave. (Ocean Drive), just west of Wildwood Crest.
