Family-friendly, Free Nature Programs at Cape May National Wildlife Refuge

Thursday, July 19 at 10 a.m.: Ghost Crabs & Mole Crabs
Wonder what shorebirds feed their young, and who lives in those holes on the beach? Find out in this program, which includes a slide show and a beach walk, where we’ll find some of these mysterious creatures

Thursday, July 19 at 12:30 p.m.: Plein Air Painting Workshop
Join us for an outdoor Plein Air painting workshop led by artist Janet McShain. We will supply materials for your use. Weather permitting, we will sketch and paint outdoors; otherwise we will work under the covered porch of the Visitors’ Center. These workshops are suitable for beginners or experienced adult painters.

Saturdays, July 21 and July 28 at 9 a.m.: Family Bird & Nature Walk
Stroll through this amazing natural area with many bird, wildflower and butterfly species to enjoy. These walks of approximately one mile and are fun for novice and experienced birders alike.
