Most of this week’s action is in Wildwood, where a great car show, a spring festival, and a historic celebration will take place this Saturday. If you love Miatas as much as your editor does, head over to Ocean City for the “roadster rally.”

South Jersey Astronomy Club Nightwatch   

Friday, May 10 at 7:30 p.m.  

Belleplain’s Lake Nummy Athletic Field  

Once in Belleplain State Forest, just follow the signs to the public parking lot (free) and then walk the short distance on to the observing field. Telescopes will be set up to give beautiful views of objects in the night sky! Just walk up to any telescope and ask a SJAC member what they are viewing and if you can take a look. Please dress appropriately on cold nights. Consider bug spray on warm nights. Only RED flashlights are allowed on the field. 

Wildwood Muscle Car Show 

Friday and Saturday, May 10 + 11 

Wildwoods Boardwalk starting near the Convention Center 

All makes and models, 15 years old and older will be on display from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.! Come see it all – foreign, domestic, hot rods, Sunday cruisers, low riders, antiques, classics – all of it! Top Awards ceremony will take place at the Wildwoods Spring Fling Festival in Byrne Plaza at approximately 5 p.m. 

Wetlands Institute Horseshoe Crab Celebration Days 

Saturday, May 11 to Sunday, May 19 

Wetlands Institute, 1075 Stone Harbor Blvd., Stone Harbor 

Join us from Saturday, May 11 to Sunday, May 19, for special programs occurring around Seven Mile Island and on the Delaware Bayshore that highlight the natural wonder of the spring shorebird migration and horseshoe crab spawning. Belleplain Dog Hike  

Saturday, May 11 at 10 a.m.  

Meet at the park office  

Meet Megan by 10 a.m. for a hike with her and her furry friends! This is the last dog hike until fall – wear tick spray! Come walk with your fellow dog lovers. Bring leashed dogs and be ready to pick up any refuse.   

Sea Glass and Coastal Arts Festival 

Saturday May 11, Sunday May 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Historic Cold Spring Village 

Over 50 Local and Regional Artists and Fine Craft Persons. Speakers and Demonstrations, Food Trucks, Contests, Live Music and more. 

Roadster Rally 

Saturday May 11 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. 

Ocean City Boardwalk, 6th to 15th St 

Roadsters of all makes and models will be on display from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on the Boardwalk from 6th Street to 14th Street.  Join us for a day where the love of cars unites us all!


Hereford Inlet Lighthouse 150th Birthday Celebration 

Saturday May 11 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. 

Hereford Inlet Lighthouse, 1st & Central Avenues, North Wildwood. 

Ceremony begins at 12 noon with a flag-raising, presentation about the history of the Lighthouse, and guest speakers from the public and private sector. A magician and balloon twister will be onsite from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. providing fun and entertainment! More activities will take place inside the Lighthouse including a presentation about Augustin Fresnel, the inventor of the famous Fresnel lens! 

Wildwoods Spring Fling Festival 

Saturday May 11 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

Byrne Plaza, 3400 Pacific Ave 

Wildwoods Spring Fling Festival is a shopping, dining & musical shindig in Downtown Wildwood. Featuring live entertainment with Basic Cable MTV Tribute & 99 Reasons! Enjoy food and craft vendors and a beer garden.
