Events this Week: March 8 – 15, 2023

There’s always something to do in Cape May County, no matter the time of year. Spring is nearly upon us, and lots of the annual events – like Sea Isle North Wildwood’s seperate St. Patrick’s Day parades – are here to bring festivities to the shore. Museum Lecture: New Jersey Women of the Civil War 

Wednesday, Mar. 8 at 5 p.m. 

Avalon History Center 

American women participated in the Civil War in many roles, some far outside the usual perception of women of that era. We hear almost nothing about these women in traditional history classes. In this presentation, learn about New Jersey women and others, the Saints and Sinners, who rallied for abolition, supported the Union cause and assumed non-traditional roles during this period of history.

“Predict the Oscars”

Avalon Free Public Library 

Participants can submit guesses for films that will be awarded the statue at the 93rd Academy Awards, airing March 12. The person with the most correct predictions will be notified to pick up movie passes generously donated by Harbor Square Theater after the awards show!

Seven Mile Shopping District

North Wildwood St. Patrick’s Day Celebration & Parade 

Saturday, Mar. 11 at 12 p.m. 

Ceremony at St. Ann Church, parade route below  

A Catholic Mass service will take place at St. Ann Church of Notre Dame La Mer Parish at 10 a.m. The ceremony will begin on the front steps of North Wildwood City Hall, 9th & Atlantic Avenue, in North Wildwood beginning at noon. A festive parade will begin at the conclusion of the ceremony and proceeds north on Atlantic Avenue to Olde NJ Avenue. 

Sea Isle St. Patrick’s Parade  

Saturday, Mar. 11 at 3:30 p.m.  

A costume contest will take place before the parade, at 2:30 p.m. – while the parade itself kicks off at 3:30 p.m. Stay tuned for more details
