Holiday events are slowing down, but there is still plenty to do at the shore. the Inn of Cape May is host to a great holiday gathering on Wednesday, a 2022 nominee for Best Picture is screening for free in Avalon, and the Angelus Community Chorus brings their resounding voices to venues across the peninsula. Middle Township Tree Lighting & Parade 

Friday, Dec. 8 at 6 p.m.  

Downtown Cape May Court House 

The parade lineup begins at 5 p.m. at Memorial Field and steps off at 6 p.m. The parade will travel north along Route 9 to Mechanic Street – the tree lighting will take place after the parade, in front of the library. 

Cape May County Museum Art Sale

Friday, Dec. 8 from 5 to 8 p.m.

504 US-9, Court House

Come out for an art exhibition and sale organized by regional artists to benefit the Museum. Original pieces will be on display and available for purchase at the Museum. Half of all art sale proceeds will go to the Museum – artists included Terri Amig, Greg Bennett, Stephen Gibson, David Macomber, Adam Wallacavage, Penny Beck, stan Sperlak, and Victor Grasso.

Pinch the GrYnch’ Boardwalk 5K Run 

Saturday, Dec. 9 at 10 a.m. rain or shine 

This holiday boardwalk 5K run and 1 mile walk is fun for all ages! Event starts at 10 a.m. – rain or shine. Participants are asked to register on-line for $30 or $20 if you donate a new, unwrapped toy for local children in need. Ocean City Tree Lighting for the Whales

Saturday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m.

9th Street Beach, Ocean City

This ceremony will honor all of the whales who died this year. Please bring a tree ornament if possible! Free hot chocolate and cookies will be served.

Avalon Players Present: “A Christmas Chaos”

Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 10 at 5 p.m.

Avalon’s youth theater company presents a hilarious holiday production. When a professional theatre company gets stranded across the country, it’s up to a rag-tag group of local theatre people to throw together their own version of Dickens’s A Christmas Carol. Tickets are $20, or $15 at the door with canned food donations.
