It’s New Years! There are three fireworks displays in the county and several other events to ring in 2023. Also don’t miss a special harp performance in Avalon.

Wildwoods Boardwalk Classic

Come to Wildwood for the largest holiday co-ed basketball tournament in the country featuring a lineup of high school boys’ and girls’ basketball teams from the South Jersey and Delaware Valley areas totaling approximately 1,000 competitors. Avalon: New Year’s Eve Fireworks

30th Street Beach, Avalon  

The 2nd annual celebration returns to Avalon with a beautiful display of fireworks to kick-off 2023. Bring the family and enjoy music, crafts, and hot chocolate at Surfside Park followed by a beautiful display of lights from the 30th street beach. 

Sea Isle City: New Year’s Eve Fireworks 

Saturday, Dec. 31 at 8 p.m.  

JFK Blvd Beach  

Fireworks will ring in the new year! Bring a warm blanket and a chair to enjoy the show. 

Ocean City: New Year’s Fireworks 

Saturday, Dec. 31 at midnight 

5th Street Beach  

Fireworks will be shot off at 12 a.m. sharp  

Lower Township New Year’s Celebration  

Saturday, Dec. 31 from 6 to 9 p.m. 

Villas Recreation Center

Belleplain New Year’s Hike

Sunday, January 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Meeting Location Belleplain State Forest Main Office Parking Lot- 1 Henkinsifkin Road, Woodbine

A guided 6-mile hike through Belleplain State Forest hosted by the NJ DEP. There will be tea, hot chocolate, and homemade treats for humans and dogs after the hike!

First Day 5k Boardwalk Run 

Sunday, Jan 1 – race at 12:30  

Ocean City Music Pier 

Ring in the new year with a race along the Ocean City Boardwalk. Pre-register at or race day 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the Music Pier. 

First Day at the Beach – Polar Plunge  

Sunday, Jan. 1 from 2 to 3 p.m.
