While Abner Doubleday gets the credit for inventing baseball, the truth is no one invented baseball. Bat and ball games have been played in America since the late 1700s and between 1850 and 1870, it was thousands of part-time athletes who turned an informal game into a codified sport. Join us to learn about the origin of this uniquely American pastime.

Participants collect, remove and record valuable data about debris, which is presented in annual reports and used to advance federal, state and local programs to reduce litter on New Jersey beaches and waterways.
