Elaine’s Dinner Theater and Modern Bed & Breakfast in Cape May will once again bring back “Scrooge: The Musical” running through Dec. 30, 2015.
It is no secret to locals who enjoy the arts in Cape May that the production of “Scrooge: The Musical” is a tradition that has served audiences for 20 years and counting.
Parker Smith, who you will often find playing the main character, says, “I find it, as an actor, a luxury to be able to continually work and perfect the role of Scrooge for over the past 20 years.” It wouldn’t take long to figure out Smith has a loyal following of returning diners and holiday enthusiasts. He continues to say, “Elaine’s Dinner Theater puts on a version that is different and a one-of-a-kind production of the Dickens classic, “A Christmas Carol.””
It is not just Smith that is looking forward to this holiday season. The whole cast is looking forward to the show, especially with year’s improvements. The tradition of the holiday celebration of “Scrooge: The Musical” remains rooted in the history of Elaine’s beautifully restored Victorian mansion, and this year, improvements have been made to the structure of the building that help to enhance the charm of the backdrop to the show. The theater has undergone a beautiful overhaul this year. The Victorian carpet has been replaced with hardwood and acoustical tiles in the ceiling. Both of these have greatly improved the sound quality in the room for the theater audience. Elaine’s Dinner Theater’s copper stone accented fireplace adds to the holiday spirit ambiance. The actors/actresses of all ages of “Scrooge: The Musical” are happy to be part of a 20-year-old continuing tradition.
Tickets and fine dining are available at the door, but reserved seating is suggested. Seating begins at 7:30 p.m. and the show begins at 9 p.m. It is a Christmas Tradition you do not want to miss!
