‘Eclectic Groupings’ Explores the Personal Journey and Diversity of Michael Terenik’s Art at the Cape May Artists’ Cooperative Gallery this May

WEST CAPE MAY – During the month of May, the Cape May Artists’ Cooperative Gallery (COOP) will feature the work of artist Michael Terenik. Terenik’s exhibit, “Eclectic Groupings,” reveals the artist’s personal journey and the diversity of his work in styles and mediums. A broad spectrum of his art will be on display, including abstracts, recognizable landscapes and a few hidden gems from his private portfolio. Complementing his paintings will be his handcrafted, up-cycled and rustic furniture. An artist reception is scheduled for Saturday, May 13 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the COOP located at 122 Sunset Blvd. in West Cape May. Light refreshments will be served and the event is free and open to the public.

Terenik’s idea for “Eclectic Groupings” evolved from a very personal journey this past year, literally and figuratively. Not only did he travel to the western coast of Mexico to visit the Yope ruins, isolated villages, and local art scenes highlighted by Diego Rivera’s Acapulco home studio, but he also underwent a hip replacement procedure which greatly affected his work. During the recovery process, Terenik had the opportunity to assess his art and has produced a very special collection of his favorite pieces to be displayed at this year’s show at the COOP.

Terenik’s work is exhibited and for sale year round at the COOP. Additionally, during the months of July and August he offers a plein air landscape portrait workshop – a unique way to learn painting techniques as well as exploring and capturing the beautiful Cape May scenery via individual perspectives.
