East Lynne Theater Company Hosts Annual Gala on Oct. 25

Tickets are now on sale for East Lynne Theater Company’s(ELTC) annual gala on Tuesday, October 25, at the Exit Zero Ferry Landing restaurant at the Cape May-Lewes ferry terminal. This is the Company’s first gala following a two-year pandemic hiatus. All proceeds from the event will support ELTC’s return to a full year of live performances in 2022, as well as the Company’s programs in 2023. 

The gala begins at 6 p.m. with cocktails on a patio overlooking the Delaware Bay followed by dinner at the Exit Zero Ferry Landing restaurant, one of Cape May’s newest restaurants. Entertainment will be by popular cabaret singer Paula Johns and her three-piece accompaniment. Johns, whose voice has been compared to some of the world’s most critically acclaimed jazz artists, will present a musical tribute to the legendary Ella Fitzgerald.  

The evening will also feature a special video salute to 42 years of ELTC performances and artists. Founded in 1980, ELTC’s current production is Kyle Bass’ “Possessing Harriet,” which has been cited recently by one critic as “riveting and powerful.” The show continues Wednesdays through Saturdays at the Cape May Presbyterian Church through October 15. Upcoming ELTC events include “Sherlock Holmes: Adventure of the Norwood Builder” on October 21 and 22; a screening of the 1925 silent film “The Phantom of the Opera” with live organ accompaniment by Warren Zimmerman on October 28; and “Poe by Candlelight,” a series of readings by Edgar Allan Poe, on October 29.
