For this week’s drink of the week, we decided to visit the oldest bar in Cape May, the Merion Inn, and ask for a drink from the extensive martini menu. What we got was a Merion Inn original, the Vickitini, named after the owner, Vicki Watson.
Bartender Carol Queenan, a 22-year veteran bartender at the Merion Inn, made the Vickitini for us with Stoli Ohranj Vodka, a dash of cranberry juice, a dash of white Lillet and an orange slice garnish. The end result: a smooth and delicious drink that will have you feeling good. Carol shared with us that the Merion Inn’s martinis are rarely made with juices and fillers, creating simple and classy cocktails.
Enjoy your Vickitini alongside live piano music at the Merion Inn every night it’s open from 5:30 p.m. On Thursdays at 8 p.m., you can also listen to the sounds of a weekly jazz trio at no cover. Come enjoy the charm and the graciousness of the Victorian era at the Merion Inn!
