This week’s winning cocktail is reminiscent of warm, summer days and the sweet, fruity cocktails that so perfectly complement them. It serves as a brief escape from the dismal winter atmosphere and a reminder that Memorial Day looms just 19 weeks away. The “Sweet Berry Cosmo” hails from Rio Station and is a light but potent refresher made with fresh mixed berry puree. Stolichnaya Raspberry Vodka, Cointreau, cranberry juice, and the puree are shaken over ice and then masterfully poured into a martini glass to create this “sweet berry” concoction. The glass is finished with a strawberry sugar rim and an orange slice garnish. For those who enjoy this sweet dessert cosmo, Rio bartender Blake also recommends the Black & White Chocolate Martini available on the bar’s Martini Menu. The Black & White is made with Sobieski Vanilla and Dark and White Chocolate Godiva Liqueur and is garnished with a swirl of chocolate syrup. This fabulously indulgent choice is a great treat after a rough work day.
