Meet this week’s bartender of the week, Kathy Bove of Owen’s Pub in North Wildwood, who serves up a fantastic blueberry mojito!

A Cape May native, Kathy moved to North Wildwood about 25 years ago. Kathy was a social worker for 29 years and stumbled upon bartending after retiring and quickly found that she loved it. Kathy bartended at a private club bartending before starting at Owen’s, where she’ll be working her eighth season this summer.

Kathy loves talking with the many new and old faces that come to Owen’s, and she treasures the relationships she has formed with the Owen’s family (staff).

Owen’s has many loyal customers that return year after year through the winter and summer seasons. Kathy says she could not ask for more excellent people to work for and work with; she is grateful for the great people at Owen’s

Kathy wouldn’t want to live anywhere else, she said. She enjoys both the quiet of the winter at the shore and the hustle and bustle that the summer season brings. She loves being outdoors in the fresh air and appreciates the saltwater, seagulls, and shore environment that North wildwood offers.

This week’s drink of the week is Owen’s blueberry mojito. Prepare to enjoy a mixture of fresh blueberries, fresh mint, blueberry syrup, rum, and crushed ice tied together with a lime. The combination of fresh blueberries and mint makes for a uniquely refreshing summer drink.
