Drink of the Week: Celtic Lemonade

For this week’s drink of the week, it’s only proper to feature an Irish cocktail in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. A true representative of Irish roots, Celtic Lemonade from Westy’s Irish Pub has been a fan favorite for years. This Westy’s signature cocktail does the trick every time and is made with only the finest Ireland-made liquors. First, Westy’s starts with Celtic Honey Liqueur. Derived from a liqueur recipe that dates back to the Ancient Celts, Celtic Honey is said to bring luck to those who drink it. Its secret recipe includes 100 percent Irish honey, whiskey, spring water and botanicals, and its sweet, smooth taste works wonders in Celtic Lemonade.

Next, Boru Irish Vodka, otherwise known as “The Vodka of Kings,” is added to the Celtic Lemonade concoction. It is made in Ireland from “the finest local grain and pristine Irish spring water.” Its five-time distillation process produces vodka of unusual clarity and exceptional smoothness. It is said to leave a “pleasantly lingering warmth,” which may account for the feel-good aftertaste of this Westy’s signature cocktail. Last but certainly not least, Country Time Lemonade gives Celtic Lemonade its sweet, citrus base for these fine Irish liquors.

Snag a tall glass of this Westy’s classic for yourself at Happy Hour Tuesday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. and pair it with $5 select appetizers. Other Happy Hour features include $2 domestics and $3.50 well drinks. Stop by Westy’s on St. Patrick’s Day for a special Irish menu and entertainment, and of course, a glass of Celtic Lemonade. To Ireland!
