This week we headed to Ocean Drive in Cape May to visit Axelsson’s Blue Claw Restaurant. This delicious establishment is nestled among commercial fishing docks, a true diamond-in-the-rough. As you enter the restaurant you are greeted with beautiful décor and friendly staff. Head to the left and up the stairs to the long stretch of bar to delight your taste buds with one of Axelsson’s new cocktails for 2015.
This week’s drink was prepared by veteran bartender, Shannon who presented us with the Basil Bourbon Lemonade. Bulleit Bourbon is combined with fresh basil, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup and a splash of club soda. The cocktail is then garnished with a slice of lemon and basil. This delicious and refreshing drink is perfect for a pre-dinner cocktail or to pair with one of Axelsson’s great dinner entrees or bar specials.
Also new for 2015 is the Nine Nine One, a pineapple-infused vodka drink served chilled with a grilled pineapple garnish. Try these drinks and many more seven days a week from 5 p.m. Enjoy half price Raw Bar items from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the pub only and dinner specials from 5 to 6 p.m.
