Street Rod Weekend
Friday, Sept. 6 and Saturday, Sept. 7

Street rods and other classic cars will be on display during Ocean City’s annual Street Rod Weekend! Friday evening will feature a sock-hop party on the grounds of the Tabernacle from 6 to 7:30 p.m. with dancing, games, family fun, and more! On Saturday, cars will be displayed at the Tabernacle grounds from 8 a.m. to noon and will then proceed to the Ocean City Boardwalk to be displayed until 4 p.m. An awards ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday in front of the Music Pier. North Wildwood Recreation Department Surf Fishing Competition

Registration for North Wildwood’s annual surf fishing competition is held at the Gazebo at 3rd & JFK Blvd. in North Wildwood. Participation fee is $15. The competition will take place Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Sunday from 7-11 a.m. Prizes will be awarded at noon on Sunday for adult and youth divisions. Dog Obedience Training Club’s Mutt Strut

The Cape May County Dog Obedience Training Club (CMCDOTC) is celebrating the end of the dog days of summer by inviting local dog owners to stroll Cape May’s Beachfront Promenade with their pooches. Owners can strut with their dogs on the Promenade anytime between 8 a.m. and noon for a requested donation of $1 per leg ($2 per person, $4 per dog).  Registration is required. Adding to the enjoyment are dog trick and dog costume contests with prizes, auction and dog information.  So, practice your tricks, dress up your mutt, and come strut your stuff! The Doggie Dash kicks-off the tail-wagging events when pooches set the pace for the 5K and 1 mile races on the beach adjacent to Raging Waters Water Park. The day continues with a splash for the fifth annual puppy pool party at Raging Waters “Water Bark.” Five dollars from every Doggie Dash registration will be donated to Team Foster.
