Wildwood Crest Summer Music Series – Cape Harmonaires

The Borough of Wildwood Crest has planned its largest Summer Music Series schedule to date.
A total of 29 evenings of live musical entertainment for the entire family are on tap in the eighth annual Wildwood Crest Free Summer Music Series, which is set to begin next week. Live music will be held at 7:30 p.m. each Wednesday and Saturday from June 24 through Sept. 5 at the entertainment pavilion at Centennial Park, located at Fern Road and Ocean Avenue.

East Lynne Theater presents “Huckleberry Finn”

Where: The First Presbyterian Church, 500 Hughes Street, Cape May
Performances are at the historic First Presbyterian Church, 500 Hughes St., Cape May, where ELTC is in residence, through September 5, Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8:30pm. Tickets are $30 for general admission, $25 for seniors (62 and over), and $15 for full-time students, those in the military and veterans. Ages 12 and under are free. Airfest

Where: Cape May County Airport, 507 Terminal Dr #102, Cape May
Airfest is the museum’s largest annual fundraiser and this year will feature live musical entertainment, eclectic food trucks, a beer garden featuring Cape May Brewery, craft vendors, World War II exhibitors, children’s activities including games, face painting and the Jim Combs magic show and walk through tours of the WWII bombers.

Alexandre Renoir: Modern Day Impressionism

This Labor Day weekend, Stone Harbor, NJ plays host to the legacy of revered Master Impressionist Pierre-Auguste Renoir, when Ocean Galleries welcomes his great-grandson, Alexandre Renoir, for an exhibition of his impressionistic paintings. “Renoir: Modern Day Impressionism” will be on display Friday, September 4 through Monday, September 7, 2015 at Ocean Galleries (9618 Third Ave., Stone Harbor, NJ). Alexandre Renoir will be at receptions from 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM on Saturday, September 5 and Sunday, September 6. Gallery exhibition hours are 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM Friday through Sunday, and from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM on Monday.

Rich Reinhart Junior Clamshell Pitching Tournament

As summer draws to a close, mark your calendars for a fun Cape May tradition—the Rich Reinhart Junior Clamshell Pitching Tournament. The longest-running contest of its kind in the region, the Junior Clamshell Pitching Tournament is set for Friday, September 4th on Windsor Beach (across from Congress Hall) in Cape May. The tournament is open to boys and girls in two age groups, ages six to 11 and ages 12 to 17. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and the tournament starts at noon.

King & Queen of Plop Competition
Friday, September 4th at 11 a.m.
Where: 9th Street Beach, Ocean City
Ocean City has an unusual way of welcoming the fall season. Four years ago we initiated a Mr. Fall Gal and Fall Girl Competition the event will be held at 11 a.m. on the 9th St. Beach opposite the Music Pier. Contestants are asked to greet the fall season, always a lovely time, by falling dramatically and in slow motion to the sand. Those performing the most dramatic renditions will be crowned the King and Queen of Plop. Event features a performance by the World’s Only Wind Chimes Band and some celebrity ploppers. Registration begins 10:30 a.m. on the 9th Street Beach. Entry is free. Prizes will be awarded. Call (609) 399-6111.
