Street Rod Weekend

Street rods and other classic cars will be on display during Ocean City’s annual Street Rod Weekend! Friday evening will feature a sock-hop party on the grounds of the Tabernacle from 6 to 7:30 p.m. with dancing, family fun, bubble-gum-blowing and hula hoop contests. On Saturday, cars will be displayed at the Tabernacle grounds from 8 a.m. to noon and will then proceed to the Ocean City Boardwalk to be displayed until 4 p.m. An awards ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday in front of the Music Pier. The Doggie Dash kicks-off the tail-wagging events when pooches set the pace for the 5K and 1 mile races on the beach adjacent to Raging Waters Water Park. Revolutionary War Encampment

Authentically clad and equipped reenactors bring the American Revolution to life on the grounds of Historic Cold Spring Village from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The event will feature encampments, weaponry and demonstrations from living history groups, including Continentals, Loyalists and Hessians. Visitors can experience an artillery demonstration both days at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Historian Mike Kochan will be in character as Benjamin Franklin demonstrating some of Franklin’s famous inventions and experiments.
