Local families and groups have created their own scarecrows that are taking up residence beside dozens of others along “Scarecrow Alley” this Halloween season. The grounds of the Emlen Physick Estate have been transformed into a spectacle of scary and silly, all original, handmade specters. Visitors to the Physick Estate are encouraged to vote for their favorite scarecrow by filling out a ballot in the Carriage House through Oct. 31 as these groups and families compete for the prize! 15th Annual Fabulous ‘50s and Beyond Weekend

Wildwoods Convention Center, 4501 Boardwalk, Wildwood
This two-day celebration pays tribute to the 1950s and highlights the Wildwoods’ role in the birth of Rock ‘n Roll music. The fun begins Friday night with a Dance Party featuring The Cameos from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Admission is $16 per person plus tax and fee. Saturday will feature an afternoon of outdoor fun and music during the FREE Fabulous ‘50s Street Fair at Fox Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Saturday night concert in the Convention Center at 7 p.m. will feature Frankie Avalon, Bobby Rydell and Chubby Checker. 7th Annual Greater Woodbine Chamber of Commerce Car Show & Swap Meet

Woodbine Bike Path, Route 550, Woodbine
The 7th annual Greater Woodbine Chamber of Commerce Car Show and Swap Meet will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come see some of areas finest antique, muscle, race, foreign, hot rod, military and unique vehicles along Woodbine Borough’s three-mile long bike path. Browse the swap meet vendor’s antiques, tools, parts and treasures. Free admission for spectators. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. 18th Annual AppleFest

18th Annual AppleFest will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the grounds of the Gandy Farmstead. The AppleFest features displays of the township’s agricultural history, and includes demonstrations of local crafts and trades (decoy carving, farm equipment, spinning and weaving, bee keeping, etc.) that help educate the community and visitors about the history of the township. No admission fee is charged, however a variety of food opportunities enable HPSUT fundraising at this event.
4th Annual 4-H Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch

The public is invited to come to the 4th Annual Cape May County 4-H Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch, hosted by the Cape May County Board of Agriculture and the 4-H Livestock Program. One month after Miss America 2019 was chosen in Atlantic City, the Middle Township PAC will participate in the process of selecting a Miss America 2020 by hosting two regional contests. One winning contestant each from the Seashore Line and Coastal Shores pageants will be selected for the honor of advancing to the Miss New Jersey contest in Ocean City in 2019. ‘Dog Day at the Pool’ Fundraiser

The Montreal Beach Resort will ‘go to the dogs’ just prior to closing its pool for the season with its second annual ‘Dog Day at the Pool’ fundraiser. Dogs will be the guests of honor for a day of relaxation and fun at the pool from noon to 2 p.m. The donation fee of $10 per pet will go directly to the Animal Outreach of Cape May. The first 50 “swimmers” will receive doggie gift bags featuring treats and coupons, while their humans can take advantage of 25% off their lunch order at Harry’s Ocean Bar & Grille.
