Festival of Trees

The Whitebrier, 260 20th St., Avalon
The annual Festival of Trees event opens at 5 p.m. on Wednesday at the Whitebrier. Sponsored by the 7 Mile Business Community Association, the auction event features more than 40 trees and wreaths beautifully decorated by local businesses. While browsing the trees and wreaths, guests may bid on their favorites. The Whitebrier will offer a light fare menu as well. The bidding resumes on Friday from noon to 8 p.m. Once the auction is closed, winners will be able to take home their tree or wreath that day to get a start on holiday decorating. Fast and Furriest 5K Turkey Trot & Kids Fun Run

Ocean City Humane Society, 18th St. & Haven Ave., Ocean City
Bring your family and friends along to participate in this fun-filled holiday tradition! All proceeds benefit the Ocean City Humane Society. The race begins at the 18th and Haven Avenues goes out and back to 33rd Street. Following the 5K, there is a 1M fun run for kids 14 and under. Pre-registered athletes will receive T-shirts. After the race there will be awards and refreshments. Race day registration begins at 7 a.m., and the 5K run/walk begins at 8:30 a.m. Kids fun run follows the completion of the 5K. The 14th Annual Turkey Trot will be held on Thanksgiving morning at the Cape May Fitness Center. Start your holiday with a 5K walk/trot/run for pediatric cancer patients and their families.
