The day of the Shiver, register at Fred’s Tavern between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. The Pre-Shiver Party at the Yacht Club of Stone Harbor will be held Friday, March 11 from 6 to 9 p.m. On Saturday, March 12 before the Shiver, Fred’s Tavern will host a Kegs n’ Eggs Party at 9:30 a.m. At 12 p.m. a parade will travel from Fred’s Tavern to the Women’s Civic Club, led by the Fralinger String Band. John Byrne Band Performance

The John Byrne Band is on tour in 2016 to support their third release, The Immigrant and the Orphan, with a performance at The Boiler Room at Congress Hall. Helmed by its Dublin-born and Philadelphia-based namesake, John Byrne has been called “an Irish Alejandro Escovedo” by Sing Out Magazine for the “rich sounds and themes of Irish tradition, one that survives in a modern world.” The Philadelphia Inquirer agrees, he “truly manages to be traditional and modern at the same time.”

The Wildwoods Convention Center will host the Cheer Tech National Cheerleading Championships, Cheer Tech National Recreation and School Championships this Sunday the 13. The entertaining and exciting event will include recreation, high school, college, open and all-star divisions, featuring teams from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York and Delaware. All teams will compete on a 54’ by 42’ spring floor and perform amazing aerial and acrobatic feats in hopes of winning the judges’ votes. All performances will be choreographed to music and sound effects, and winning teams will be awarded trophies and banners. 20th Annual ‘TechSpo’

Upper Township Schools will hold their 20th annual technology exposition or ‘TechSpo’ from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. As with every TechSpo since the first in 1996, this event will be free and open to the public. TechSpo gives students and teachers a chance to show off the terrific tech projects they’ve been working on in the classroom. TechSpo is sponsored by the Upper Township PTO. There will be light refreshments available, and there will be a raffle to win a GoPro camera.
