Sherlock Holmes Adventure of the Speckled Band

“Mr. Holmes, I am under such a strain that I shall go mad if it continues. Do you think that your powers could shed a little light in the darkness which surrounds me?” asks Enid Stonor. And with these words, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson find themselves in a race against time to stop the bizarre murders in an eerie country manor.  

Step back in time, when the East Lynne Theater Company presents Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s “Sherlock Holmes’ Adventure of the Speckled Band” in the style of a radio broadcast, complete with live sound effects and commercials, just like the Sherlock Holmes’ radio series on NBC that premiered in 1930. It was adapted by Craig Wichman with the permission of Dame Jean Conan Doyle. Craig is Founder and Producer of the nationally acclaimed Quicksilver Radio Theater and this script received the National Federation of Community Broadcasters’ “Gold Reel” for Radio Drama Award. The cast is Sydia Cedeño, Robert LeMaire, Lee O’Connor, Gayle Stahlhuth, Fred Velde, and Craig Wichman.

Police Athletic League of Cape May 14th annual Comedy Night Social

The Police Athletic League of Cape May will hold its 14th annual Comedy Night Social on Friday March 15, 2019 from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. The event will be held at the Cape May Convention Hall and will feature three headline comedians. Tickets for the event are $40 per person.

Don’t miss our 9th Annual Stone Harbor Shiver! Enjoy a March weekend at the beach with family and friends and take a dip in the beautiful and COLD Atlantic Ocean! Proceeds will benefit Family Promise of Cape May County – a charity that supports, counsels and works to place homeless parents and children in permanent homes; and the Stone Harbor Chamber of Commerce, so we can continue to hold the Shiver and other great events throughout the year!

Your weekend fun will begin Friday night at the The Reeds at Shelter Haven, 96th Street & Third Avenue, for the Pre-Plunge Party! $20 includes buffet, cash bar. Fred’s Tavern will host “Kegs & Eggs” Saturday morning, beginning at 10 a.m. At noon, we’ll parade to the beach front parking lot at the Women’s Civic Club. 3rd Annual Carney’s St. Paddy’s Polar Plunge, 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk

Keg’s & Eggs registration begins 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. 5k Run/1 Mile Walk at 11 a.m. Polar Plunge 12:15 p.m. This year’s event will benefit the Children’s Fresh Air Home located in North Wildwood. Children’s Fresh Air Home is a non-profit that provides a no-cost, enriching summer experience at the Jersey Shore in a safe, positive environment for children.

Participate in one event, freeze your butt off in both, or cheer on participants. After party and awards will follow the plunge at Carney’s. All participants receive a long sleeve shirt.
