We’ve made it through another week of snow, ice, and sub-freezing winter temperatures. Here, we list our tips on how to heat things up with some February fun! Check out some of this week’s awesome events.

2014 Middle Township Relay for Life Kick-Off
Wednesday, February 5th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm
Where: Middle Township PAC – 212 Bayberry Dr, Cape May Court House
The KICK – OFF of the 2014 Middle Township Relay for Life Event for the American Cancer Society begins Wednesday, February 5th at 6:30pm at the Middle Township PAC. This is an opportunity for everyone (not just from Middle Township) to come together to learn about the May 16 & 17, 2014 314 Annual Relay Event and how YOU can get involved. At this KICK-OFF you can learn more about the Relay, sign up your team and receive credentials, purchase luminaries for the event and register for the Survivors Ceremony and FREE dinner reception.

SJ Wrestling Wrecker Duals Tournament
Friday-Sunday, February 7th to 9th starting at 2 pm
Where: Wildwoods Convention Center – 4501 Boardwalk, Wildwood
The South Jersey Wrestling Association hosts an elementary and middle school wrestling tournament for grades 2 through 8. Fri: 2 – 9 pm; Sat: 8:30 am – 9 pm; Sun: 9 am – 6 pm. For more info, visit www.sjwrestling.com.

Valentine’s Day Adopt-a-Thon
Saturday-Sunday, February 8th & 9th from 11 am to 4 pm
Where: Pet Pros – 112 Woodland Ave, Somers Point
Be their Valentine. Give a cat or kitten a new lease on life by providing him or her a furr-ever home this Valentine’s Day season. Pet Pros will be the hosting site for an adopt-a-thon Feb. 8 through 9. Hours will be 11 to 4 pm, Feb. 8 and 12 noon to 4 pm, Feb. 9. Both cats and kittens will be on site on both days. Applications for adoption will be on hand. Several rescue groups from Atlantic and Cape May County are participating, including Life Improvement for Cats and Kittens (L.I.C.K.) and Cape May County Shelter. Beef & Beer to Benefit NJ Run for the Fallen
Saturday, February 8th from 6 to 10 pm
Where: Bayview Inn – 8100 Bayview Ave, Wildwood Crest
There will be a DJ, raffle, auction, and 50/50. All proceeds will be used to cover the expenses of the Run and provide support for our military runners, Gold Star Family members, and support teams. Tickets are $20 in advance. Pay online at NJRunForTheFallen.org.

Perceverance Jazz Band in Concert
Sunday, February 9th from 2 to 4 pm
Where: VFW Post 386 – 419 Congress St, Cape May
Cape May Traditional Jazz Society presents the Perceverance Jazz Band. Jonathan Davenport and his group of young enthusiastic Traditional Jazz musicians will perform on trombone, banjo, clarinet, trumpet, tuba, drums, keyboard, bass, vocals. A good fun time! Proceeds will be donated to “Food Bank of Southern Jersey” to help support local needs.

Movie Night: “Rush”
Monday, February 10th from 6 to 8 pm
Where: Sea Isle City Library – 4800 Central Ave, Sea Isle City
This biographical drama shows Formula One drivers James Hunt and Niki Lauda during the 1970s, at the peak of their heated rivalry. Both on the track and off, Hunt and Lauda couldn’t have been more different. Yet as much as Englishman Hunt’s showy public persona clashed with Lauda’s reputation for tightly-controlled perfectionism, both men remained bound together by one undeniable fact — they were both among the best drivers ever to grace the racetrack.
