Blessing of the Water Ceremony

Saturday, April 2 at 11 a.m.  

Cape May’s Fisherman’s Memorial, is located on Missouri Avenue and the Harbor. 

The ceremony was designed to commemorate those Cape May fishermen who had lost their lives in pursuit of their vocation, and whose names are engraved on the tablets located at the Memorial. The ceremony, by local clergy, offers prayers for a safe and successful fishing season.  

Ocean City Comic Con

April 2 and 3  

Music Pier  

The OC-Con Comic Book and Memorabilia Festival will be held April 2 and 3 at the Ocean City Music Pier. Now in its fifth year, the festival will help kick off Ocean City’s 2022 calendar of special events. 

OC-Con features meet-the-artist sessions, discussion panels, costume contests, and the display and sale of comic books and memorabilia. Show hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 2, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 3.

Penny Party Fundraiser, The Ladies for the Knights of Columbus 

Saturday, April 9 at 12 p.m. 

Knights of Columbus hall, 206 N. New York Avenue, North Wildwood 

Doors will open at noon.  There is a $1.00 admission charge per person which includes a ticket for a cup of coffee.  In addition there will be a tombola table. Baby coaches and strollers are not permitted inside the hall. 

Fallen Heroes Polar Plunge 

Saturday, April 9. Plunge time is 11 a.m.  

16th Avenue and the beach, North Wildwood. 

Registration for the 2022 plunge is open on the Eventbrite page at www.eventbrite.com and the fee is $35 per plunger. The event includes food and drink specials, live music, special guests, raffles, and prizes for best individual and group costumes. On-site registration is available the day of the event from 8:45-10:45 a.m. at the 15th Avenue Lifeguard Station. Day-of registration fee is $40 for adults and $15 for children under 15 years of age. Ocean City “Doo Dah” Parade 

Saturday, April 9 from 12 to 2 p.m. 

Asbury Ave. from 6th Street to 12th Street, Ocean City 

Welcome in the Spring season with this comedy parade complete with over 300 basset hounds. Noon on Asbury Ave. from 6th Street to 12th Street and then up to the Boardwalk ending at 6th & Boardwalk.

Cape May County Earth Day Celebration 2022 

Saturday, April 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  

Cape May County Park  

The Cape May County Park and Zoo is the perfect location for this day of fun and learning. Hands on educational exhibits, children’s amusements, live entertainment, a variety of environmental eco-shops, scavenger hunt; all which will guarantee a day of earth friendly fun. Large tents on the center field will showcase educational exhibits. The Bandstand nearby will feature the entertainment for the day. Crafters, wares, and a food court surround the field and complete the venue. 

April Craft and Collectible Show

April’s craft and collectible show features a variety of vendors from the region. This regular event happens year-round; come see what the April show has to offer.  

Sturdy Bank 5k Run and 1-mile Walk  

Sunday, April 24 at 8 a.m.

Coast Guard Community Festival

The popular festival returns after a COVID hiatus. This year’s festival includes ship tours, trolley tours of the training center, cultural exhibits, community organizations, vendors, a food and beer garden, live music, and more. Exit Zero Jazz Festival  

Friday, May 13 – 15 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Cape May bars and restaurants will host many genres of music May 13-May 15. You might find yourself one-minute second-lining to a New Orleans brass band, and, in the next, snaking through town behind a 22-piece Brazilian drum bloco. Barefoot Country Music Festival  

June 16 – 19  

Barefoot Country Music Fest, Jersey’s Original Country Music Beach Fest, takes place in Wildwood between the famous Morey’s Piers on the beach. BCMF is host to 40+ artists slated for June 16-19, 2022, bringing a unique blend of today’s country headliners, regional stars, up-and-comers and locals favorites performing across five stages. 

Create In the Crest Arts Festival  

Saturday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

The event is expected to include artists, entrepreneurs, musicians, photographers and other creators of all kinds.  

Vendors will not only sell their art, but some will also teach free classes related to their crafts.  

The event is seeking arts vendors. Fee is $60. Fee is waived if the vendor agrees to teach a 20- to 30-minute class to a group of up to 15 people. Interested vendors should email cac@wildwoodcrest.org with a brief description of their art/products to be sold. Those interested in teaching a class should also indicate such in their email correspondence. 

Craft Beer, Music, and Crab Festival  

Saturday, July 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  

Physick Estate  

This summer hit named one of the 5 Best NJ Summer Festivals by CBS NY features hard shell crabs, craft beers, food trucks and vendors, crafters, family entertainment and back-to-back music on the outdoor stage at the Emlen Physick Estate.  Admission is free. Bring a blanket or chair and relax in the shade near the outdoor stage. Well-behaved pets welcome
