Cape May Court House Movie Night

Each month, the Cape May County Public Library hosts a movie night for adults at two of its branch locations. A different movie is selected each month. We show wide-release, limited-release, independent, and documentary films. Our intention is to appeal to many tastes at Cape May County Public Library movie nights!

Wildwood Crest Summer Music Series – Ribic’s Cube

The Borough of Wildwood Crest has planned its largest Summer Music Series schedule to date.
A total of 29 evenings of live musical entertainment for the entire family are on tap in the eighth annual Wildwood Crest Free Summer Music Series, which is set to begin next week. Live music will be held at 7:30 p.m. each Wednesday and Saturday from June 24 through Sept. 5 at the entertainment pavilion at Centennial Park, located at Fern Road and Ocean Avenue.

Thursdays on Dune

Where: Dune Drive, Avalon
Make plans to spend Thursday nights in Avalon this summer as the popular Thursdays on Dune returns for a second year of family fun. Hosted by the Avalon Chamber of Commerce, 7 Mile Business Community Association and the Borough of Avalon, the event features activities for kids from 5:30-7 p.m. before a concert from 7-8:30 p.m. Vacationers and residents alike are invited to take a stroll through the heart of Avalon every Thursday from July 2 to Aug. 20 to enjoy live music, activities and giveaways for the entire family – all for free.

106th Annual Baby Parade

Natural Cape May with Mike Crewe

Where: Lower Cape Branch Library, 2600 Bayshore Road, Villas
Take a look at the natural world in Cape May County and find out what’s happening in the world beyond the front door. Birds, mammals, flowers, insects and much more, all come under the spotlight as we look at what to expect now and in the coming month. Mike Crewe is the Program Director for New Jersey Audubon’s Cape May Bird Observatory and, though a recent migrant to the area, he has wasted no time in getting to know Cape May’s intimate corners. Mike has worked as a horticulturalist, bird tour guide and environmental consultant and likes nothing better than getting outside and getting dirty!

Thursdays on the Lawn Summer Concert Series

Where: St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 3rd Avenue & 95th Street, Stone Harbor
All are welcome to enjoy free musical entertainment by local musicians. Set aside Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 PM beginning July 9th through August 13th. Bring a chair or blanket, bring a friend to St. Mary’s Episcopal Church at 95th & Third Ave in Stone Harbor. Presentations are held outside on the front lawn. Provisions have been made for inclement weather in the Parish Hall.

Micro World Life of Little Animals Nature Walk
Saturday, August 15th at 9:30 a.m.
Where: Upper Township Library, 2050 Tuckahoe Road, Woodbine
The Nature Center of Cape May will present a nature walk series for all ages on the third Saturday of each month. This month, Sam will focus on tiny animals and organisms all around! All materials will be provided or found in nature. Participants are encouraged to bring their own binoculars. There will be a limited quantity available. All children attending are required to have adult supervision. Sam Wilson is a teacher and naturalist at the New Jersey Audubon’s Nature Center of Cape May. His passion is teaching about science and nature, and conveying the importance of the conversation of our natural resources and wildlife.

Back Bay Boat Cruise

Where: Begins at Lower Cape Branch Library, 2600 Bayshore Road, Villas
The Cape May County Library invites the public to join, “Back Bay Boat Cruise on the Osprey” presented by Sam Wilson at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 15th. This family program will begin at the Lower Cape Branch Library located at 2600 Bayshore Road in the Villas. Gain access to some of Southern New Jersey’s wildest places aboard the M.V. Osprey. Wilson will give a short multimedia presentation at the Lower Township Library before the voyage. We will then travel a short distance to board the Osprey in Cape May and take a two hour tour of the back bays. While cruising through secure waterways aboard a stable pontoon boat, wonderful opportunities arise to see wildlife. The Osprey is captained by Bob Lubberman, a seasoned Captain who has over twenty years experience in driving vessels. Ages six and up are welcome to join the cruise. Binoculars are recommended.

4th Annual Reeds ‘n Seeds Watermelon Party
