Wildwood Crest Summer Music Series

The 2017 Wildwood Crest Summer Music Series includes 24 shows, making it one of the largest free concert series in the region. The series includes many of the most popular cover bands and tribute acts on the East Coast. Shows will be held each Saturday through Sept. 16 and each Wednesday through Aug. 30. All shows are free and open to all ages. Attendees should bring a blanket or a chair. Aug. 23 will be Star Band with oldies, Motown and doo wop, and Aug. 26 will be B Street Band with a Bruce Springsteen tribute. Cape May Summer Concert Series: Mary Wilson of The Supremes

On Wednesday, Aug. 23, Mary Wilson of The Supremes concludes the Summer Concert Series. With The Supremes, Wilson recorded twelve Number 1 hit singles, including “Where Did Our Love Go?”, “Baby Love,” “Come See About Me,” “You Keep Me Hangin’ On,” “Stop! In the Name of Love,” “You Can’t Hurry Love,” and “Back in My Arms Again.” In 1988, The Supremes became the first all female group to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. After the group disbanded, Wilson continued performing as a solo artist and wrote two best-selling autobiographies. The Philadelphia 76ers will visit fans at the Jersey Shore during a tour which will feature players, alumni, and the Sixers ENT comprised of the Sixers Dunk Squad (presented by Dunkin’ Donuts), Sixers Dancers and mascot Franklin. There is no cost to enter. Food, beverages, interactive activities and games are available for purchase. Fans may buy All-Access Day Passes that include a 76ers beach towel and unlimited access to face-painting, inflatable zones, Dunkin’ Dunk Tank and a nine-hole mini golf course. The weekend includes two festivals, The BBQ & Blues Bash and the Rock the Veterans Concert, both featured at Fox Park. The BBQ & Blues Festival will feature live blues music from bands. Food trucks and tents will offer barbecue varieties, a beer garden will be open through the day, retail shopping will be available through the vendor row, and kids can enjoy the KidZone. The event has free entry all day, and will be from 1-9 p.m. Rock the Veterans is a rock concert benefitting the two organizations. Tickets are required; $7 pre-purchased tickets and $10 door tickets. $5 from each ticket will be donated to the charities. In addition to the concert, food and beverage vendors will be available including the beer garden, and children can enjoy the KidZone.
