The Friends of the Cape May Music Festival invite the public to hear renowned New Jersey concert pianist Stanley DeLage perform works by Brahms and Rameau as well as the rarely heard original piano composition of Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition.” The Friends are an affinity group of the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC) in support of the annual Cape May Music Festival. On Stage New York Dance Competition

The Performing Arts Center of Middle Township will open its busy spring season of varied cultural programming over the weekend of April 6-8 with a series of regional dance competitions. The PAC will be hosting On Stage New York, which currently is on a 16-state tour of competitions that began in Orlando and will end at Niagara Falls. Ocean City Girls Weekend

It’s time to put yourself first! Ocean City’s third annual Girls Weekend kicks off Friday night with a fashion show at Glazed Over Studios. Tickets are $20. Saturday will feature a show titled “Defying Gravity” at the Music Pier, which is about that special balancing act of motherhood and career that can sometimes seem like it breaks the laws of physics. Tickets are $18-$20. Throughout the weekend, Ocean City’s downtown retail district will offer hotel and bed-and-breakfast packages, dining offers, shopping discounts, prizes, yoga and wellness classes, craft projects and demonstrations at various locations throughout Ocean City. Wildwood Fishing & Boating Expo

The Wildwood Fishing & Boating Expo will return for a two-day show on Saturday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. There will be over 90 vendor booths covering all fishing and boating needs, plus free fishing , boating and safety seminars. Al Harrison Dixieland Jazz Band

Cape May Traditional Jazz Society presents traditional jazz with the Al Harrison Dixieland Jazz Band from 2 to 4 p.m. The band features Al Harrison on trumpet, Joe Midiri on clarinet, Fred Scott on trombone, Bill Schilling on piano, Bill Stumm on bass and Chick Sperell on drums with a red hot, swinging, fun show. Tickets are $15 in advance or CMTJS member, and $20 at the door. Students are free with school ID or parents. Proceeds will be donated to the Food Bank of Southern Jersey to help support local needs. Cape May County 2nd Annual Art Exhibit

The 2nd Annual Cape May County Art Exhibit, sponsored by the Cape May County Culture & Heritage Commission, will take place April 9-27 at the Middle Township Performing Arts Center. The exhibit gives all artists throughout the county, at all ages and all skill levels, an opportunity to exhibit their work in a professional setting and to compete for cash prizes. The exhibit is judged by professionals in Amateur, Intermediate, Professional and Youth divisions. There are no entries fees to participate in the exhibit. The only requirement is that the artist must be a resident of Cape May County. A reception and awards ceremony will be held as part of the exhibit.
