Polar & Pup Plunge

The Pup Plunge allows all pups and their owners the opportunity to support the Cape May County Animal Shelter. The leashed pups will splash along the shoreline going in as far as they wish, or just stick to prancing in the sand. Costumes encouraged for all! A prize will be awarded to the best dressed. $10 registration fee per entry by April 11, $15 after that date. All Polar Plungers receive a free T-shirt, hot chocolate and food. Doo Dah Parade

Sixth Street & Asbury to Fifth Street & Boardwalk, Ocean City
The Doo Dah Parade will feature marching bands, floats, grand marshal Erik Estrada and a brigade of more than 500 basset hounds. . The parade route starts at Sixth Street and travels downtown Asbury Avenue to 12th Street, then turns to the boardwalk at 12th Street and finishes on the boardwalk at Fifth Street. Friends of the WWII Tower Lecture: 50 Years Later… 1968 and the Vietnam War

1968 was pivotal year in both Vietnam and the United States. Just prior to the Tet offensive and the turning of the War in Southeast Asia, anti-war protests broke out on college campuses in the States and the ensuing youth movement began to change American culture. On April 14, the topic is “House of Pegasus” – Folk Music and the War. The Vietnam War was a dominant musical theme in the ‘60s and ‘70s. Anti-war songs were an integral part of virtually every anti-war protest march and rally. Admission is $5 at the door, and free for all WWII Veterans, Friends of the Tower, MAC members and students.
