Do The Shore 7/19 – 7/26

Trying to search for fun events can be tough, but look no further. Here at Do The Shore, we have all the information that you need to know for this week. On July 20th, the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse located in North Wildwood will be hosting their Annual Maritime Festival from 9 am to 4 pm. Come out and celebrate the Jersey Cape’s rich maritime history and enjoy some great artists, crafters, music, tours and much more! This event is great for all ages.

If you just can’t get enough of the antiques then head to the Wildwood boardwalk on July 20th starting at 10 am to enjoy an Antique Car Show. The show will be between 16th and 26th Avenues. The admission is free. When you are done, enjoy a nice stroll on the boardwalk. If you start to get hungry, make your way to the Ice House Restaurant located at 4415 Park Blvd in Wildwood to join the fun of the New Jersey State Crab Festival. Admission is free and all ages are welcome. Feast on endless blue claw crab and sample Ice House’s must-try Crabby Bloody Mary. This all-day-long festival will feature “everything crab” along with a fantastic beer garden pouring several craft brews. Outside vendors include face painting for kids and a balloon designer. Look for the crew of 98.7 The Coast’s Radio Show, broadcasting live from the Crab Festival. An exciting crab race for prizes kicks off at 6PM. Parrotbeach, a Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band, will take the stage at 7 PM playing island tunes to entertain the whole family.

Watch Santa Claus ride along the beach as we celebrate Christmas in July on July 20th from 1 pm to 2 pm. The event will take place on the beach at 15th Avenue in North Wildwood. There will be candy canes and lots of entertainment for kids! This event is great for the family to enjoy.

Learn about nature with the NJ Nature Program with Steve Serwatka on July 21, 2013 at 7:30 pm. Bring your friends and family to the Cape May Convention Hall to meet local naturalist Steve Serwatka and learn about the animals that he has rescued and rehabilitated. Steve will bring his animals into the audience for a closer look as he explains their behavior and habitat. This will be a great night for all ages. Best of all the admission is free!

Don’t forget your dancing shoes! Come out for some classic and progressive rock and roll in a high energy free performance by No Limit at the Centennial Park in Wildwood Crest. They will be performing on July 24th at 7:30 pm. This show is appropriate for all ages; make sure to bring a blanket and a chair! Interested in more entertainment for the 24th? Check out Stockton Children’s Theatre performance of “Dorothy Meets Alice: The Wizard of Wonderland”. This performance is great for all ages and begins at 10:30 am and admission is $10.

Have an interest in art and want to see a great exhibition? Check out “Graham Nash: The Art of Visual Harmony,” opening Thursday, July 25 through Sunday, August 4. Nash will be at Ocean Galleries located in Stone Harbor to sign purchased artwork from 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM on Saturday, July 27.

If you were looking to find more entertainment you may want check out, Tales of the Victorians on July 25th at the Cliveden Inn in Cape May. The event begins at 4:00pm and is suitable for all ages. Admission for children 12 and under is free. After that you can head to the beach next to the Convention Hall in Cape May for a free Movie Night featuring “Shrek” at 8:30 pm.
