Dining through the Decades Fundraising Dinner
Thursday, November 14th from 5 to 7 pm
Where: Ocean City High School – 501 Atlantic Ave, Ocean City
Dining through the Decades will include students and staff members dressed in outfits of the past and present. The dinner will be a sumptuous buffet featuring the international specialties of local chefs. Dinner music will be provided by Mr. Tym Cox and his OCHS jazz rock ensemble students. Attendees will receive an advertising book and have opportunities for fabulous door prizes. The cost is: $25.00 per person, $10 for children age 10 and under, and free for children age 3 and under. 4th Annual Winter Wonderland Parade Fundraiser
Thursday, November 14th from 6 to 8 pm
Where: Congress Hall Ballroom – 200 Congress Pl, Cape May
Please join us as we warm up for the 2013 holiday season with our annual fundraiser to benefit one of our community’s favorite traditions, The West Cape May Christmas Parade. Bring your family & friends to celebrate & kick off the most wonderful time of year in the beautiful Ballroom at Congress Hall. Together we will enjoy live entertainment, including story time with Mrs. Claus and ‘Blue’ the pig. Enjoy your first hot chocolate of the season along with other sweet and savory treats while shopping the silent auction for early holiday gifts. Donation Request: $20 per person. Children 12 and under are welcome at no charge.

Free Autumn Botany Walk

Where: Two Mile Beach Unit of Cape May National Wildlife Refuge – 12001 Pacific Ave (Ocean Dr.), Wildwood Crest
The Friends of Cape May National Wildlife Refuge will present a special free Saturday morning family nature walk, “Enjoying Autumn Botany,” on Nov. 16, 10- 11:30 am, at the Two Mile Beach Unit of the Refuge. Autumn is a fantastic time to study our native trees and shrubs. When the camouflage of leaves disappears, the true silhouette of a plant is revealed. If you enjoy autumn hikes and always wondered what you see along the way, then join Volunteer Master Naturalist Joe Alvarez for this informative, fun program. This walk is free and perfect for all ages. As always, dress for the weather. Heavy rain cancels the event. After the walk, the public is invited to warm up in the newly-opened Nature Store at Two Mile. Cheer Tech Island Championship

Where: Wildwoods Convention Center – 4501 Boardwalk, Wildwood
Hundreds of cheerleading teams will bring their dance moves, pom-poms and spirit to compete for a winning title. The ABSC Rec and School U.S. Finals competition on Nov. 17 will be open to all recreational centers and school programs that are members of the American Recreation and School Cheer Association. Tickets for admission are $15 for adults, $10 for children 10 and under, and free for children 3 and under.
