“Community Band by the Sea” Seeks Players

If you are a local musician, consider joining the “Community Band by the Sea” to play a vintage tune or two just like the old “Scrap Iron Band” from 20th Wildwood. The “Community Band by the Sea” performs every year at the Byrne Plaza in Wildwood.

The band will play the same music that once greeted trains as they came into town at the turn of the century, 1901. The concert is on Saturday, July 29 at 7 p.m. – the rain date is Sunday, July 30 at 12 p.m.

The concert will feature instrumentalists of all ages who will come together to support the community and to play beautiful music by the sea. Instrumentalists will only rehearse together one day prior to the performance and will be provided music the month before the event, so please register early!

Each year, it is fun to see familiar faces and to make new musician friends from other bands while entertaining audience members who always enthusiastically support the annual show.

The performance will feature standard wind band literature.

We cannot stress this enough; our main goal is to bring music into the community. Therefore, we want and need local players to come share their love for community band. Dust off your brass, woodwind, or percussion instrument and be a part of live music! We will have fun making music together!
