Come to Cape May for Harvest Brew Fest

CAPE MAY – Come to the Emlen Physick Estate, 1048 Washington St. this fall for Harvest Brew Fest, an event celebrating local food, local wine, local beer, local spirits and local talent, on Saturday, Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Shop at seasonal vendors beginning at 10 a.m. and enjoy great prepared food perfect for an autumn afternoon beginning at 11 a.m., including Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Crab Cake Sandwiches, Chowder with Cornbread and Chili Dogs. Food truck vendors will offer tasty items for purchase, including Crepes at “Crespella” and Seafood at “Captain Mariner.”

Wash down these delicious foods with craft beer from local and regional breweries in the beer garden on the estate lawn beginning at 11 a.m. Purchase and enjoy local and regional craft beers from the Cape May Brewery truck, and from Tuckahoe Brewing Company. Enjoy vodka beverages from Tito’s Vodka and wine from local vineyards also will be available for purchase, as will non-alcoholic beverages.

Live music kicks off on an outdoor stage beginning at 12 p.m., and features homegrown talent: The Squares; Dan Barry; Gordon Vincent & the Overwhelming Everything; and, The Bastard Sons of Captain Mey.

Family-friendly events are a huge part of the day. The Give & Take Jugglers will perform their amazing circus-style juggling acts. Kids and their parents can visit tents featuring activities such as a Caramel Apple Topping Stand, Face Painting/Temporary Tattoos, Pumpkin Painting, an Apple Cider Doughnut Eating Race, Sand Art, Bracelet/Necklace Making and Harvest Hat Making, along with a bubble pond, hula hoops, and more. Children can go on a Scavenger Hunt and collect stickers at locations around the estate for a prize. It’s a celebration of all things local — including local families — and you’re invited!

Admission to the grounds is free and free parking is available at the Cape May Elementary School, 921 Lafayette St. There will be a charge for food, beverages and some activities. Commemorative t-shirts will be available.

The Harvest Brew Fest is sponsored by MAC with funding provided by PNC Bank, Equity Communications (95.1 WAYV and 110.7 WZXL), Macy’s and Sunset Liquors.
