Come celebrate the 228th anniversary of the creation of the U. S. Lighthouse Service at the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse! On Aug. 7, National Lighthouse Day, enjoy free admission to lighthouse from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., as well as special guest speakers, authors, artists, the Gift Shop and Victorian Gardens, and more!
At 11 a.m., there will be a formal patriotic ceremony in the courtyard honoring the lighthouse and Coast Guard heritage. This will feature lighthouse historians, Coast Guard representatives and elected officials.
