Celebrate Mother’s Day

You may not be able to go out and celebrate Mother’s Day at the shore as you normally would this year, but here are a few ways for you and your family to have a wonderful Mother’s Day at home!

Make Mom Breakfast in Bed
Show mom how much you care for her by bringing her breakfast in bed! Shop for fresh fruits and produce at local markets or bring her coffee in bed from her favorite coffee shop to start her day off right.

Enjoy a Fun Day at Home
Make plans your mom will love, even if you can’t go out and about quite yet. Plan a movie day, go for a walk around your neighborhood, or plan a home improvement project you can all work on together. Or let mom sit back and relax while you take over chores and errands for the day!

Plan a Video Call with Your Family
If you do not live with your mom or can’t see her for Mother’s Day, plan a family Zoom call to celebrate with everyone near and far. Invite family members and friends who she would be excited to see and let the festivities begin!

Buy Her Something She Can Use Later
Although most places at the shore are closed to the public, many restaurants and activities are selling giftcards or tickets to be used when things return to normal! Plan a day for Mom later in the year with her favorite Cape May County activities and make a donation in her name to her favorite local business in need. This will give her something to look forward to when you can finally return to the shore.

Order Takeout for Mother’s Day Dinner
If you want to do something special for Mother’s Day this year, many restaurants are still open for takeout and offering Mother’s Day specials! For more information, look through the Do The Shore section in this week’s Herald to see which restaurants are open and ready to help with your Mother’s Day dinner plans!

Mother’s Day gift ideas and activities should come from the heart and can show mothers near and far how much they are appreciated and loved. Even if Mother’s Day looks a little different this year, you can still have fun with the whole family!
